CORGI launches a series of self-help videos for Brits and plumbers

A series of new how-to videos are being launched to give Brits tips and advice on how to look after their own homes.

CORGI has unveiled a number of new resources designed to help over 5000 Gas Safe Registered local engineers and consumers prepare for the winter onslaught.

With high winds, torrential rain, and snow, this is the time of year when the demand for plumbing services traditionally increases.

As a result, CORGI have launched a series of ‘how-to’ videos, including bleeding radiators and repressurising the boiler and how to remedy a fault at home.

Crucially, the videos also inform customers on when it’s time to call in the experts.

Commenting on the findings, Mark Leslie, chief executive officer of CORGI HomePlan said: “As the winter weather approaches, more problems occur. Handy demo videos allows us to minimise stressful situations and help customers know their limits when dealing with radiators or boilers. This ensures they stay safe and happy which is our job.”

The report coincided with similar findings by Gocompare.com which revealed that the number of people requesting boiler repair services is set to incerease this year.

It found that just over a quarter of consumers are worried about the possibility of their boilers breaking down during the winter.

However, attempting to fix some of these problems yourself may not always be the best course of action. If you have never bled a radiator, or pressurise the boiler, you should probably seek some help and assistance from your local plumber who can advise you.

In many cases, you will find that the problem will get sorted a lot more quickly and cost-effectively when you enlist the services of a professional to repair any damage for you.
